Setogawa and Storehouse with plaster walls

Setogawa is a man-made river created almost 400 years ago by using the water surrounding the Masushima Castle. The river was once the border between the Samurai and the villagers. More than 1,000 multi-colored carp swim in the river now. Along the river stand storehouses with plaster walls, sake breweries and some old town houses. Setogawa is s famous landmark in Hida Furukawa.
There are also 35 mud-walled warehouses behind the Enko-ji to Benten-sama.
