Welcome to Hida City! Hida city is located in the farthest north of Gifu prefecture. It is a beautiful land surrounded by Hida mountains (Northern Japanese Alps) and Mt.Haku. Hida is known for its old traditional town houses build by skillful Hida craftsmen. In rural areas, you will see a beautiful nostalgic landscape of old farm houses dotted in vast rice fields.
Hida has been passing its cultural traditions such as the large and beautiful festival in Japan called Furukawa festival, folk crafts of Shunkei Lacquer and Japanese paper called Yamanaka- washi(paper).
You can enjoy the traditional culture of Hida, outdoor activities in the rich nature or even just hang around in the city. The choices are up to you!

Hida Kamioka HatsuKonpira Yoimatsuri & Crystal candle town
The interesting festival that you can see many unique handmade floats parading downtown will be hold at Hida Kamioka on 13th Feb. At this time, you will find fantastic candle illumination in downtown.
